End of Season Celebration

What a heck of a season! I would like to personally thank each player for an awesome Spring 2010 YMCA Youth Football season. Each player worked hard, tried their best, and had a great attitude! Thank you. I would like to also thank all of the parents! Making it to practice, games, taking care of snacks, all while managing a million other commitments. Thank you. Special thanks to Jim and everyone for helping with the STARS program. I think the kids really enjoyed that. Last but certainly not least, HUGE thanks to Steve Nelson for helping to coach this season. Steve, we could not have done it without you. Thanks!

‘Americans’

‘You’ve got a reason to stand up for yourself
To not be pushed around
A reason to stand strong and hold your ground

(refrain)

If you are an American, stand up for what you believe,
If you are an American, fight for your freedom please,
If you are an American, don’t back down.
Do what’s right.
If you are an American, follow your dreams.

(refrain)

Stand up, you know what’s right
Stand up, I’ll help you through,
Stand up everybody
Let’s work together through and through

(refrain)

Come on, you know you want to
Come on, you know you have to
Come on, help everyone else do what’s right’

(refrain)

Learning to Wakesurf

You can take the kids out of California but you can’t take the California out of the kids. Having grown up in California, my brother Tom and I had a love for the water and surfing. Moving to the Midwest as teenagers, there were no more waves so we took up wakeboarding 25+ years ago as a pseudo replacement as we thought our days of surfing each summer were done.

That was until we discovered wakesurfing! A couple of videos of us learning to surf at Lake Powell earlier this month.

Good times! And something we will do a lot more of in the future!
