Having been home a mere 4 days (but having plenty of time for a visit to El Patron!), the kids and I abandoned Mike in a clean house by himself and headed to St. Louis. We left the house before 7A, picked up my mom (yes, she’s one of the Gs) and then my niece, Mattie and nephew, Austin in Oak Grove. Then we were on our way down I-70 to the other side of the state.

First stop: the Gateway Arch…seriously. We didn’t even check into the hotel first.

Oddly, it didn’t occur to us that the Mississippi River would be overflowing even though we’ve been keeping up with the status of the Missouri via news and FB posts from our friends in Parkville. Hmmm….wonder if this carry over to Table Rock (a mere week away)?!
